Dear Delegates,

My name is Grigory Tolstoy and I am the head of philanthropy and sponsorships as well as the chair of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. This is my second year at MUN, and I’ve had the experience of representing the delegation of the Republic of India in the  Economic and Social Council last year in Prague. I believe that MUN is a very valuable and rich experience that allows us to gain insight into the real works of United Nations as well as allowing us to develop essential collaborative and communication skills that will benefit us in the worlds of education, business and politics.

As the head of philanthropy and sponsorships my aim is to use this conference to connect to the outside community, network and establish valuable relationships, and to have the opportunity to give back through our philanthropy project.

As a chair of SOCHUM my goal is to create an environment in which every delegate has the opportunity to learn, to thrive and to reach their potential as a speaker, collaborator and policy maker.

I am excited for my opportunity to hear debates on the Human Rights issue that is the theme of our MUN conference.

Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors:

My name is Gleb Artyukhov and I am the General Secretary of CIMUN 2019 and it is my distinct honour to invite you all to our second Carlsbad International Model United Nations conference, which will be held in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.

I was born in Tashkent, raised in Kazakhstan. Now I live in Russia and study in the Czech Republic. I can define myself as a true TCK (Third Culture Kid) with international experience.  My MUN story started in 2014 in Almaty. By this time I’ve been to 5 conferences all around the world and I’m really interested in politics and international law, which is why I chose MUN. This is my first conference where I’m involved as a General Secretary.

CIMUN is something that's a little bit different from the other MUN conferences. It’s comfortable for beginners and experienced delegates alike. Participants will have a chance to explore the atmosphere of the actual UN sessions and to make new friends from all over the world. For me it’s challenging because it’s my first year of being General Secretary for MUN conference. But I love challenges and I’m ready for it!

This year, our topic will be “the 70 years of the Declaration of Human Rights”, and it’s great opportunity for us to celebrate this event by hosting CIMUN 2019.
